(1871-1929) UK writer who collaborated with J Stafford Ransome and M H Temple, all writing as Caroline Lewis, in two Alice Parodies: Alice in Blunderland (1902) and Lost in Blunderland: The Further Adventures of Clara (1903). The Day that Changed the World (1912 as by The Man Who Was Warned; 1914 as Begbie) can be read as sf, but is perhaps better thought of as Christian Fantasy. On the Side of the Angels (1915) is a subfusc response to Arthur Machen's The Bowmen (coll 1915). [JC]
