Tagged: Author.

(?   -    ) UK writer whose Fires of Isis (1927) made no impression but whose Monk's Magic (1931) is a Quest tale that hovers interestingly between fantasy and Supernatural Fiction. Ordered to wander the world in search of the Elixir of Life, the monk protagonist travels across a Land-of-Fable medieval Europe with a young woman – whom he thinks to be a boy, and with whom he guiltily falls in love (see Gender Disguise) – en route encountering Ghosts, Magic and Witches, and visiting the land of the dead.
