Tagged: Author.

(1930-    ) UK writer whose two YA fantasies comprise a loose sequence, the second preceding the first. In A Year and a Day (1990; vt Juniper 1991 US) a young princess must spend the eponymous period with her Witch godmother in an indeterminate Celtic-Fantasy venue, where there are invocations of Arthurian Matter. In Wise Child (1987) another child is raised by the same witch – opposed by the Thinning onslaught of a Christian priest – and trained to use old gifts to maintain justice. [JC]
