Working name of US writer William Bradley Strickland (1947-    ). His Jeremy Moon sequence – Moon Dreams (1988), Nul's Quest (1989) and Wizard's Mole (1991) – conveys its copywriter hero into a wittily constructed Dream world, where he takes his stand. The juvenile Dragon's Plunder (1992) involves cut-throat Pirates and a boy who can whistle up the wind. In addition to a number of sf novels, Strickland has completed several YA fantasy adventures begun by the late John Bellairs, including The Ghost in the Mirror (1993), The Vengeance of the Witch-Finder (1993) and The Drum, the Doll, and the Zombie (1994). [JC/DP]

other works: ShadowShow (1988) and Children of the Knife (1990), both horror.
